General Rate Increase
The TSA carriers have announced a $400/40 general rate increase from Asia to USA on January 1, 2012.

Bunker Amounts
TSA carriers announced their 1st quarter bunker amounts will remain the same.   
US West Coast $454/20', $568/40', $639/40HC, $719/45'
US East Coast  $886/20', $1107/40', $1245/40HC, $1401/45
No increase compared to current bunker levels.  

Alameda Corridor Increase
Starting December 1, 2011 the Alameda Corridor rail fee will increase to $21/20', $42/40', $42/40HC and $47/45'.

Pier Pass 
Effective August 1, 2011 Pier Pass will incease their rates to be $60/20 and $120/40.  An increase of $20 per 40' for all containers being trucked into or out of LA or Long Beach ports during the day.

EU Entry Summary Declaration (ENS)
Starting January 1, 2011 the European Union (EU) will require all customers to submit their shipment data 24 hours prior to the cargo being stowed on any vessel which will call European port.  The shipment data will need to include the following items: container number, commodity description, harmonized code, number of packages, cargo gross weight, seal number, UN dangerous code where applicable.

November 8, 2011 - United Logistics has expanded its 3PL services by purchasing a 155,500 square foot warehouse on Cherry Street in Newak, CA.  It is well suited for light production with ESD flooring and 8,000 amps.

July 22, 2011 - To celebrate exceeding our sales goal of 200,000 teus in 2010, the Apex USA offices met in Honolulu.

March 24, 2011 - Apex Group held its annual meeting in Bangkok, Thailand.  We reviewed our plans for 2011 and commemorated our 20+ years of exceptional growth. 

 

January 4, 2011 - Apex Maritime is recognized by the American Shipper Magazine (May 2011 issue) as being the 3rd largest NVOCC from Asia to USA for 2010 calendar year.

January 1, 2011 - United Logistics officially moved into its own 143,000 square foot warehouse located in Newark, CA.   It is centrally located near the port of Oakland and their customers in Northern California.  

December 31, 2010 - Apex is pleased to announce that for the first time in the company's history we handled over 200,000 teus from Asia to USA in 2010.    

December 8, 2010 -  Apex Maritime was recognized by Eva AIR as the top performing export airfreight forwarder for Northern California.
